Inspector Alert Radiation Wipe Test Plate
Safety, Quality, and Compliance programs sometimes call for Surface Wipe tests (or SWIPES) to be performed routinely or periodically on surfaces in the environment of interest. Typical environments where this is practiced or required include laboratories, nuclear medicine departments, oil, and gas sites (for safely dealing with concentrated NORM - Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials). The Inspector Alert Wipe Test Plate is an accessory that can be installed onto a standard Inspector radiation detector. The tray slides in and out for loading and then measures the swipe’s activity by positioning it directly below the 2-inch pancake detector. The sliding plate will accept standard sampling swipes and provides a fixed sampling distance of 1 cm.
