First, this is not a reflection on TEquipment, they are great. I am leaving the 3 Stars for the Hikmicro Pocket 2. Minor issues, but issues nonetheless. The travel case is way, way too tight. This is a frequent complaint about the case and Hikmicro still has not fixed the issue. You will soon be irritated with the extreme effort to get the Pocket 2 out of and, into the case. The case does not have space for the wall-wart charger. The button for taking pictures is exactly where you will put your finger to hold or balance the camera. Thus, you will always be taking a picture you did not intend to take. It would have been far better to have a soft button on the screen. No lens protector cap or slide. Worse of all, the Pocket 2 has an underpowered processor or poor software and is far too slow in its response to finger presses on the screen. While you can select a custom emissivity, it would be better to have a scroll screen with numerous presets as opposed to the 9 or so available. Unable to do custom emissivity in Macro mode. I have not found a way to pinpoint or target a specific component or item for a reading. In the Pallet Fusion mode I can not get to blend the outline image with the item being viewed. Parallax images are tricky. It would be good for Hikmicro to provide how-to and in-depth instructional videos on this camera. This camera is priced for the consumer-level market and they should not assume the consumer market has any clue about thermal imaging cameras or how to use one. On the plus side the Pocket 2 is well-built, sturdy, and has a high quality feel. The camera came in a very nice shelf pack and was well packaged. There is a calibration card that has the serial number of the camera on it. There is a small instruction manual included. The Hikmicro tech support has proved to be exceptionally good, as has the TEquipment support people. The Hikmicro Pocket 2, for its price range is better than most, and is an average to good thermal imaging camera. If you can live with the small annoyances then you will be happy.
