THERM-O-TRAC Soldering Station, 3/32" x 5/8", 525-850 °F, 120 V
Therm-O-Trac + Soldering Stations are the best available for high-reliability applications. They exceed all industry standards and MIL specs including the performance requirements of MIL-STD-2000A and ANSI/JSTD001; the ESD requirements of MIL-STD-1686; and the EMI and RFI emission criteria of MIL-STD-461A/ 462A. With outstanding performance, Therm-O-Trac + is also the leading station for commercial applications requiring high reliability and accurate temperature control.
The Hexacon TOT-1002+ is a highly advanced temperature control unit that incorporates a programmable integrated circuit microcontroller. This microcontroller is responsible for reading the digital K-Type thermocouple sensor located inside the tip of the soldering iron. By accurately measuring the thermocouple voltage and utilizing calibration potentiometers, the microcontroller converts this data into a Fahrenheit reading.
To ensure precise temperature control, the TOT-1002+ compares the measured temperature to the desired temperature set by the user. The microcontroller then calculates an appropriate response and delivers power to the heating element of the soldering iron to achieve and maintain the set temperature within a remarkable range of +-1%. Even during heavy use or slow temperature changes, the TOT-1002+ incorporates a failsafe mechanism that prevents temperature overshoot, ensuring stable and reliable performance.
Safety is a top priority with the TOT-1002+. It incorporates an optocoupler, also known as an opto-isolator, which isolates the control circuit from the power circuit. This isolation prevents the high voltage of the heating element from affecting the low-voltage components of the unit. By utilizing LEDs within the optocoupler, triac switching for power control is only allowed at zero voltage, minimizing the risk of electrical spikes and ensuring safer operation.
The TOT-1002+ includes a sponge for cleaning the soldering iron tip, ensuring proper maintenance and optimal soldering performance. Additionally, it comes with a Model J202X tip, known for its versatility and effectiveness in various soldering applications.
Operating on 110/120VAC power supply, the TOT-1002+ is designed for use in standard electrical systems, providing compatibility and ease of use.
In summary, the Hexacon TOT-1002+ is a highly advanced temperature control unit that utilizes a programmable integrated circuit microcontroller and a digital K-Type thermocouple sensor for precise temperature measurement and control. With its advanced features, failsafe mechanism, optocoupler technology, included sponge, and Model J202X tip, it offers exceptional performance, safety, and convenience for a wide range of soldering applications.
Therm-O-Trac Plus Features:
- Temperature Control - Therm-O-Trac + is designed to give the industry's most stable temperature control during the work cycle and less than ±1% variance at idle temperature. Temperature is controlled by a thermocouple positioned at the working end of the tip. It continually senses temperature and corrects for temperature variations immediately by adjusting the power through a closed loop, zero voltage switching circuit.
- Temperature Range - Variable temperature models (350°F to 850°F) can be set for any temperature in the range. All units can be easily calibrated in the field without any special components or tools to ensure certification compliance with industry standards and MIL Specs.
- Practice Safe Soldering - Therm-O-Trac + does not produce levels of EMI, RFI, ESD, electrical or any other energy forms detrimental to sensitive devices during soldering. The station design and construction eliminate any possibility of ESD damage.
- Made to Survive the Harshest Soldering Environments - Therm-O-Trac + Stations are durable and built to last with independently replaceable component parts and tips. All models are available in either 120V, 60 HZ or 240V, 50 HZ.
