Hexacon Powerhouse Soldering Iron
Features
- Nickel wound heating element insulated with high dielectric Mica wound on a conductive stainless steel core. All Hexacon elements are built with a +/- 2% resistance tolerance, fully burnt-in to stabilize wattage, and dielectric-tested at 1200V in order to allow consistent idling temperatures, fast recovery, and long life.
- Burn resistant, extra-flexible, neoprene power cord with wattage identification will withstand accidental contact with iron at operating temperature.
- Three-wire, grounded construction for operator safety. Posi-Ground option ensures less than two millivolts steady state leakage for MIL-equivalent use and component safety.
- Painted hardwood handle
- Corrosion Resistant Nickel Plated 6-1/2" long case for better access to work
- Long-life, Standard Hexacon Tip and “S-10“ Iron Holder included. “S-9” Iron Holder included for Hatchet Style Irons
- Available in two tip diameters (5/16” and 1/4") with a variety of tip geometry suited for many uses.
Hexacon's Powerhouse irons have high watt density which equates to high speed production. Designed in 1/4" and 5/16" diameter to have half the weight of a 3/8" diameter iron but does 70% of the work of that iron resulting in conservation of both power and materials in this iron group. Extra-long reach of 6-1/2" case gives better access to connections. Dependable, rugged, and easy to maintain. The tip, element, cord, and handle of each Powerhouse Iron is independently replaceable. Power ranging from 40 to 100 watts. Also available in 220V.
Hatchet irons are an option with this category of Irons. A Hexacon invention, Hatchet Irons reposition the center of gravity closer to the hand producing less torque on the wrist and shoulder. In-line irons require use of the entire arm while the angled Hatchet iron’s work is done by the forearm effectively reducing operator fatigue.
Order the straight "P" Series for long reach (6-1/2") or the "H" Series hatchet design for easier handling.
Applications
Rugged design is most favored in telecommunications and power supply industries for rapid soldering.
- Rapid soldering/ high volume
- Larger thermal mass tasks
