Hakko 472D-01 Desoldering Equipment Digital Self-Contained System Pencil-Style. Built in air pump. Powerful suction! Use the "lockout" key card to enter temperature settings into the system memory, then when the card is removed, all parameter settings are "locked" into the system memory, which cannot be changed without the key card, preventing the operator from making accidental or unauthorized temperature changes.

Excellent Tool
We purchased this to replace some very old Pace desoldering stations, for which parts were no longer available. The Hakko units were recommended by a contract manufacturer, who has extensive experience with production tools. We were not disappointed, this desoldering station works better than the old units ever did. The larger tip is less prone to clogging problems, and the vacuum system is exceptional. The Pace unit used a glass tube for solder collection which was difficult to clean and prone to breakage; the Hakko uses a metal coil spring. The Hakko uses a digital control for tip temperature regulation and it seems to work well.After two weeks of using the Hakko 472D-01 we immediately bought a second one to replace another of the Pace units.We had a minor problem with setting the temperature and called Hakko, who immediately talked us through the setup. Customer service like that is rare these days and I congratulate Hakko for their personal help.

Great Desoldering Station
This unit replaced an over-priced Weller desoldering station. Weller doesn't offer replacement parts for it any more (it's not that old). I've have the Hakko 472D for several months now, and still, it's suction is over 21" Hg! Far more suction than the Weller had when it was new!This is a great desoldering station! And, TEquipment had it at my door faster than I thought possible! TEquipment & Hakko... A Great Team!!
