I expected the most from this product. After using my technician's desoldering tool with great results, I decided to get my own. Yep! Unless you have three hands, this tool is the best thing you can purchase to get a component desoldered. I've been doing it the hard way for years (retired) but now I've got the right tool and its a breeze! Just remember to release the clamp force on the vacuum collection chamber and dumpit out before you store the tool away. That way the gaskets remain fresh for the next time you use it. Be conservatve on the temperature setting. Burning off a pad is too easy.

I had some large lugs to remove from a PCB, and the regular tip was too small. This tip was perfect for the job. The picture suggests the finish/quality of the tip is lacking, but when I received the tip, it was the same (good) quality as the rest of the FR-301 I was using. Highly recommend this..

After my venerable Pace desolder station died, I needed an inexpensive and reliable desolder unit! Purchased the Hakko FR301 but it only comes with the 1.0mm tip. Purchased this 1.6mm tip from Tequipment (who has the best price by the way) to desolder larger terminal like large capacitors. This Hakko FR301 is an awesome unit but word of caution, start with the lowest setting first!! I burned a few pads at first because level 3 was definitely to hot!!!
