High quality rework station that will suit my needs well. Very accurate temperature when tested with an external thermocouple. The only negatives are the user interface isn't as easy as some I've used and it doesn't seem to heat up quite as quick either.

Decent hot air station

Decent hot air station, works well, and the vacuum pickup functionality can be handy. It takes a little to get up to temperature, but once it's there it works great.
My only complaint is that the larger tips can be way more expensive than the size and complexity seems to justify, and that if you're using them "properly," you'll need a lot of them for different sizes and packages of chips.

Hakko hot air rework station

I had an older hot air rework station from another brand that held up for many years. What drew me to this model from Hakko was the increased volume of air it appeared to be able to move. After getting it and working with it, I am not disappointed at all. Easy to setup, easy to use. Had to gauge and get used to the settings for me own personal use. Have only had it for a few weeks, but can't see doing rework without it anymore. Great tool.

This unit works well for a good part of our daily micro soldering and BGA LGA applications. Temperature setting is reached quickly and having control of the air flow and programmable profiles makes it very useful. Some people like the older analog model better since they can change temp and air flow on the fly; however, I like the digital controls and three profiles are all I would ever need.
