General Wire manufactures a range of products for professional pipe inspection, location, and cleaning. The company’s primary product series is the Gen-Eye line of pip inspection and location systems. The Gen-Eye POD system features everything you need to perform pipe inspections including the camera, reel, and 7-inch color monitor. The POD camera is self-leveling, meaning the video picture is kept upright while the camera is fed deeper into the pipe. Bright LED lights on the camera head provide clear pictures. A tough push rod call Gel-Rod allows users to push the camera deeper without fear of damage from moisture thanks to the rod’s Kevlar braided construction with fiberglass core. Two sizes of the Gen-Eye POD are available: the standard unit with 200ft reel for 3-10 inch lines, and the MINI-POD with 125 or 175ft reels for 2-4 inch lines.
General Wire also offers other Gen-Eye products for added versatility. The Gen-Eye Prism allows users to use their own tablet or smartphone as an inspection monitor with the option to record. The Prism device features a Wi-Fi transmitter which enables video transmission to the Gen-Eye app when installed on hand held devices. The Gen-Eye SDW and SDP video inspection systems also include Wi-FI transmitters to enable hand held device communication in addition to improved viewing monitors with larger screens and Pelican protective cases.
The Gen-Eye Hot-Spot pipe locator makes locating subterranean pipes, power lines, and inspection cameras easier than ever no matter if you’re a first time user or experienced pro. The intuitive display shows you the direction to go with simple arrows. The Hot-Spot unit is rated to IP65 for protection against most dust and light water ingress. The unit has also been drop-tested from one meter.
