Fotric 223B - Camera for Elevated Body Temperature Screening; Package with Tripod, Laptop and Social Distancing Floor Stickers

This item is a package containing a Fotric 223B thermal imager, tripod, social distancing floor stickers, and a laptop with Fotric's software preinstalled, greatly streamlining the setup process for temperature screening. The laptop contains 8 GB of memory, a 256 GB SSD, and has a 15.6" screen, so test results are easy to see. Fotric guarantees operation of the Fotric software. Computer questions and issues would be handled by the computer manufacturer. Computer model is subject to change with availability, however, operational specifications would be maintained.

The laptop includes a screenshot showing the software and its drivers have been installed and are operational. The system comes set for the default configuration.


The Fotric 223B is a thermal imaging system which can be used to screen for elevated body temperature. It features an accuracy of ±0.9°F (0.5°C) and can measure subjects between 2.5 and 10.5 feet away. The 223B offers an accurate and dependable solution for quick screening in high volume settings.

How does this work?

The 223B features a 160 x 120 IR resolution. This means that it simultaneously measures the temperature of 19,200 individual points in the frame. The camera also comes with a very powerful software package which is programmed for facial detection. When someone enters the frame, the camera automatically detects their presence and takes a temperature reading. These individual points are assigned a color based on temperature, which are then used to form the thermal image.

Once a reading is taken, the system will provide either a pass or fail signal based on a user defined threshold. For example, if the alarm is set for 100.4°F and someone enters measuring 102°F, staff will be notified with visual and audio signals. Alarm settings are also customizable for situational and privacy requirements.

Lines can keep moving

The Fotric 223B operates at 30 frames per second. Unlike many systems on the market, testing subjects do not have to stop moving for their temperature to be taken. This is very useful for reducing traffic in settings where large numbers of people must be screened.

The system is capable of identifying and tracking multiple subjects as they walk through the frame.

It is important to note that recent guidelines from the US Food and Drug Administration recommend scanning be performed one person at a time, as opposed to large group settings. With proper line configuration, it is possible to do this, while also keeping the line in motion.

FDA best practices also include the removal of any facial obstruction (hat, glasses, mask, scarf), hair pulled away from the face, and clean/dry skin.
