A well made item that's safer to use than rigging something up with a resistor. A little on the pricey side, but it keeps the Cat IV safety rating of the meter intact so it's worth it if you need it.

SV225 is a “Ghost Voltage Eliminator”. When testing live high voltage, especially in a battery pack, there are magnetic waves powerful enough to show hundreds of volts on your meter when it is connected from high voltage battery positive to chassis ground. This will trick you into thinking you have a high voltage leak to ground. By adding this adapter into any multi-meter a load is put into the test cables and you will only read voltage that is truly there. DO NOT leave this in when testing computer circuits or you will need our “Smoke in a Can”.
