This S/W is one step up from a camera snap of the screen. The program doesn’t have a help file, there is a “manual” that is on the CD (42 pages). You can save the data as a FVF (FlukeView File), CSV, TXT, BMP, or PCX formats on your PC. There isn’t any description on the TXT or CSV layouts. A single channel (A for example) has 3 columns of data. One is the sample time (relative), the other two appear to be data but the plotted (including sum and difference) doesn’t appear the same as displayed on the scope. You control the scope from a graphic of the scope itself. You click on the buttons (except for OFF) and the virtual scope screen shows the results of the button click. You click through just like you would on the real unit. I bought this S/W to capture the data and then do offline analysis. As the data doesn’t appear to match the actual scope screen when plotted, I wouldn’t buy this S/W if I knew this before.

This is the basic CD you'll need if you want to connect any of Fluke's older scopemeters to a PC. I have no choice but to "recommend" it, inasmuch as it's the only option to do the job. Is it great software? Not especially. Is it overpriced, like everything Fluke? Well, yes. My new Agilant meter came with a much better PC interface and it was free. And bugfree too. I can't help but think that software should be automatically included with expensive high end test equipment. And yes, it could have been better designed. Give Fluke a "C " on this one.
