FSR MDC-MK4 - Down Converter with Genlock

The MDC-MK4 is the next generation of low-cost high-performance down converters. Churches, schools, hotels, live events, or nearly anyone who needs to convert a high-resolution computer image to any television standard will benefit from MK4’s performance and cost-effectiveness.

With HD and computer input support plus HD and standard definition output support, the MK4 is the perfect transcoder for mixed format applications. Simply connect a computer or HD source to the input and select a standard definition or High Definition output and your image is available in the format that you need with the quality that you expect.

The MDC-MK4’s inputs support computer resolutions up to 2k x 2k and all HD resolutions up to 1080p. The output can be set to NTSC or PAL and will support standard definition composite, S-Video, and component video simultaneously. Alternatively, the MK4 can also output an HD component. When in the HD output mode, the composite and S-Video outputs are shut off.

The MDC-MK4 incorporates several features to simplify use. First, all control and set-up functions are controlled via the front panel and a simple on-screen menu system. Additionally, a remote control software application is provided that allows the MK4 to be controlled via a serial connection from any computer running Microsoft Windows. Next, the input resolution is automatically determined and the image is sized perfectly to the desired output format. Variable Pan and Zoom allow the user to adjust image size and placement. Finally, the common functions such as switching are performed with a single button press on the front panel.

To ensure the highest picture quality, The MDC-MK4 incorporates a multi-line active scaler to sample and convert the resolution from the input to the desired output while maintaining color accuracy and eliminating flicker.
