Extech MO220 Wood Moisture Detector
The Extech MO220 Wood Moisture Detector monitors the moisture in various wood types (6 to 44 percent) and building materials. It measures directly with the integral pin electrodes or you can use the heavy-duty remote hand-press probe on hard surfaces.
Additional Features
The memory on the MO220 contains eight wood groups with calibrations for approximately 170 species of wood, and the meter can display automatic temperature-compensated readings when the included temperature probe is used. There is a built-in calibration check, replaceable measurement electrode pins, Auto Power Off function with disable feature, and low battery indicator.
The moisture meter also comes with a temperature probe, which enables temperature measurements or materials and surrounding area and also enhances the accuracy of measurements. It does so, by adding ATC, automatic temperature compensation, so can take into account any surrounding temperatures, which may affect the accuracy of measurement taking and so will adjust readings accordingly.
The moisture meter has eight wood calibration scales stored in its memory; these scales enable users of the meter to get extremely precise readings of the levels of moisture in approximately 170 different species of wood. This results in the meter being an extremely useful piece of kit to have when needing to measure the moisture levels in wood burners or wood burning stoves.
The meter’s integrated pin electrodes are replaceable should the initial pair become defective and the remote hand-press probe is included in the package, as is a protective cap, two AAA batteries and a pouch to keep the meter safe in. The MO220 meter also comes with an auto power off function, which can be set to between 1 to 9 minutes and helps to ensure long battery life. This function can, however, be disabled depending on the preferences of the user.
The moisture meter itself is housed in a double moulded casing, which helps to ensure its sturdiness and at 180 x 50 x 31 mm, it is small enough to fit inside a pocket, as well as operated with only one hand.
