Accurate and easy to use.
5.0
After using many other cheap and uncalibrated light meters for a long time, I was through with the build quality and inconsistent readings between different meters. Finally decided to go with the Extech EA30-NIST and the first thing I noticed was the build quality. Needless to say, you get what you pay for--not to mention how far off some of my other uncalibrated meters were. Haven't had to stretch it out to 400,000 Lux yet but resolution allowed me to get consistent readings in a dim candle lit room.Rather than just seeing a bunch of numbers jumping around, the bargraph is also very useful in "visualizing" small changes in light in real-time. My only gripe (if you could even call it that) is with the sensor cover which falls off quite easily. Be sure to secure the cover to the sensor housing via the provided attachment points or you could be looking for that cover for a long time...Overall, this is an excellent meter with useful features not offered on other cheaper meters--happy with the results.Arrived quick and provided with excellent customer service by TE Equipment!
