The EA15 is easy to use and compatible with multiple thermocouple types allowing for the flexible use. I needed the data logging and the SW associated was easy to use control.

Out of calibration

Both temperature inputs drifted 6 degrees out of calibration right out of the box. Extech would not cover the shipping cost to return the meter. This was a brand new meter and was defective from the start. I returned the meter and purchased an Amprobe TMD-56 that I am very happy with it.

Extech EA15- Portable and easy to use

We have used the EA15's for years for portable data acquisition. I have used it on boiler stacks in freezing conditions (put the unit in a plastic bag), and on boiler windboxes and furnace temperature profiles. It saves the hassle and expense of stringing long thermocouple wires. The only drawback: you MUST remember/write down the starting time. The DAS uses an internal stopwatch for a clock, so requires entering the starting time to line up your data with the rest of the test equipment. That's the only thing that keeps it from being 5-star.
