The Sauermann VT 115 S Hotwire thermo-anemometer is perfect for measuring airflow, air velocity and temperature. The VT 115 S comes with a telescopic hotwire probe (diameter 8 mm, Length 3" (1 m)) that bent at 90°. It is also supplied with a soft case and adjustment certificate.
A wire is continuously heated at a superior temperature than ambient and continuously cooled by airflow. Constant temperature is maintained by a regulation circuit. The heating current is proportional to the airflow velocity.
Negative temperature coefficient probes are thermistors with a resistance that decreases with temperature according to the equation below:
