The Sauermann VT 110 S Hotwire thermo-anemometer is perfect for measuring airflow, air velocity, and temperature. The VT 110 S comes with a stainless hotwire probe (diameter 8 mm, Length 12" (300 mm)) and is also supplied with a soft case and adjustment certificate.
A wire is continuously heated at a superior temperature than ambient and continuously cooled by airflow. Constant temperature is maintained by a regulation circuit. The heating current is proportional to the airflow velocity.
Negative temperature coefficient probes are thermistors with a resistance that decreases with temperature according to the equation below:
RT = resistance sensor value at temperature T R(T0) = resistance sensor value at reference temperature T0 T and T0 in °C α and T0 sensor specific constants
