CombiLog Antenna, 30 MHz to 2000 MHz
The AC-22- Combilog is a linearly polarized, broadband hybrid antenna. A log period antenna with the feed lines modified to include a set of, what is commonly referred to as "bow-tie" elements, which are low frequency antenna elements is the basic characteristic of a hybrid antenna. To reduce the the flow of common-mode currents on the outer conductor of the coaxial feed line/receive cable, common-mode chokes are typically installed. At a minimum, the frequency range of a log periodic, and biconical antenna can be covered by a hybrid antenna.
Four separate typical conventional antennas would be needed to cover the 20MHz - 2GHz frequency range that the AC-220 operates in.
