Iris Head Mounted Display (Iris HMD) is a remote heads-up display for thermal and digital imaging systems. The IrisHMD allows the operator to view the system display without looking through the eyepiece. This permits the operator to remotely view the imagery and target acquisition data discretely from a concealed position during surveillance and enemy engagement. The Iris HMD is ideally suited for use with medium and heavy machine guns where significant weapon recoil is present. The Iris HMD is also the perfect tool for fighting in built-up areas (FIBUA) where sighting and engaging the enemy around corners, in tunnels, through windows and into other confined spaces with minimum exposure is paramount. The Iris HMD can also be used in conjunction with proximally located remote weapon stations on armored vehicles or static emplacements where operators require concealment for covertness or safety in a hostile environment.

Weighing in at 150g, the Iris Head Mounted Display is small and lightweight with very low power consumption. It can operate continuously on rechargeable lithium batteries for up to 2 hours. The Iris HMD interface is compatible with most in-service US Army/ Navy head and helmet mounts with the selection of the appropriate adapter. The optional ergonomic, fully adjustable padded head mount assembly allows the Iris HMD to be flipped out of the line of sight when necessary or rapidly removed. The Iris HMD is the right tool for enhancing operational flexibility and capability for the 21st century warrior on the tactical battlefield.
