Armada Technologies introduces the new Pro50 AC/DC Digital Solenoid Activator with built in multimeter. Irrigation troubleshooting starts with testing the clock and zones at the clock. The suite of testing includes voltage output at the zone as well as the loop resistance on the wiring and solenoid for each zone. The Pro50 can not only do these tests as the old analog solenoid activators can, but it can do it for all low voltage solenoids, not just 20-60 ohm AC models. That means DC and high resistance solenoids for lightning protection can be tested, diagnosed, and operated/chattered, all from one tester. The Pro50's built in multimeter can test for AC, DC, and ohms and is voltage protected to 120 volts. This more detailed information, given by the multimeter, replace the "dumb" LED lights that have no flexibility or ability to interpret results like a multimeter does.

Fine product but pricey!
5.0
I am a DIY enthusiast and initially ordered the Pro 48 but changed my order to the Pro 50 unit when I noticed the upgrade from the 48.The 50 gives you the raw numerical values instead of a good, poor, bad read which the 48 does. The Pro 50 does exactly what it is meant to do.The values are repeatable and accurate. I like the chatter function but could not make any of my valves chatter. I will try this again, I may be missing something.. It is one function that attracted me to this unit unlike other ohmmeters.I am yet to test the wire locator probe.I like the pouch with which you can store thee whole unit.I find the pincers at the end of the probes very short and small. It was difficult to apply to the zones and common wires on my controller. They kept slipping off the wires of the Rainbird unit. The pincers should be slightly bigger or longer. for easier grip on the wires. They kept slipping off the controller wires. The case is made of a hard plastic material.Twice the unit dropped to a concrete floor from a height of 5 feet and no scratch! I will recommend the unit but it is pricey for non commercial use.Better for a professional whose income depends on it.If I can afford a 2nd unit, I will get one as I am on the road quite often.
